ANOTHER EXPLORER BASS PROJECT

This time we are building for the bassist in a German Who tribute band called Who Are You

The bass is based on a slightly more angular Explorer bass and features some exquisite timbers - some pieces of which were difficult to obtain in the sizes needed.

It will feature LED markers , custom wound pickups and a Status active circuit

A metallic spider web applique will give the distinctive look.

Another Korina built Lion in the works
This one is going to feature a set of EMG 25th Anniversary pickups that the customer supplied
The paint finish will be a silver metal flake not unlike the Gretsch silver jet

An all access neck joint will make top fret playing a breeze too

This baby is for a regular customer who usually favours superstrat guitars like Charvel's, Jacksons and the Washburn Nuno N4 guitar.

He rather fancied something a bit more traditional but still wanted to be within his comfort zone.

So we went for a flat version of our usually carved top Lion guitar and added comfort contours.

To the Korina body we added a Quilted maple veneer and will soon bind the body

As an added feature it will have a Piezo loaded Tone Pros bridge by Graph Tech for acoustic guitar sounds.

Another left handed guitar in the making, and a 7 stringer as well.
This time it is also a semi acoustic thin-line loosely based on the classic double-cut design.
Reverse headstock too!

Notice the art-deco style f-hole based on the ones found on an old Dobro resonator design
Still needs the holes to be drilled but you can see what it will be like

This guitar is for a customer who is somewhat of a Flying V fanatic .
He wanted a guitar that as accurately as possible recreated every important detail or feature of the original prototypes.
So certain neck heel angles are very different from production models, but it will be fun to get this one going and nailing the look and feel of a great guitar.

As ever for lefties it's a hard job finding much of a selection of guitars to chose from "off the shelf" so custom built is a good option and way of getting what you want

While we were experimenting with designs for the ML design for our Belgian customer we came up with this beast. We were trying to get a bigger beefier tone out of this design.
It is slightly bigger all round as well as being a bit thicker in the body than this type of guitar would usually be. We also put some hollow tone chamber to both keep the weight in check and add to the tonal character.

Mahogany and flame maple construction with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard- nice stuff!

This guitar is up for grabs - so give a shout if it takes your fancy.
It would best suit a tall-ish player

Another version of the RG flavoured superstrat

It features a lightweight American Alder body , a 3 piece maple neck with a rosewood board

Featuring chrome hardware this time we will probably finish this axe in a dark colour.
Maybe using that metallic gunmetal again as it went down so well last time we used it.

It features a pair of humbucker pickups which will be controlled by the same switching that John Petrucci had on both his Ibanez and Musicman axes (a 3 position toggle switch that auto-coil taps both pickups in the middle position)

Another of our superstrat type guitars - with an all access neck.
This one features a slim neck with a nut of only 41mm (which is about 1 5/8" like an old strat)
The neck is a nicely figured piece of maple with a compound radius rosewood fingerboard.
The body is a piece of American Red Alder- lightweight and resonant.

Tuning duties will be by Sperzel Tuners and a fab Hipshot tremolo. An Earvana nut will assist with the intonation.

Still have to decide which pickups - choices, choices. ......

The title kind of says it all -
It's like a time warp back to 1984 when you couldn't get cooler than a hockey stick headstock guitar , some stripey trousers and a lot of good licks. An original Floyd and a great sounding humbucker is all that is required to rock out here.
Tempted to go with a George Lynch theme on this one as an homage to the player who my favourite shredder of the day

Whilst we're on an 80s trip here is another one the same - except for the maple fingerboard. the inlays are Black tahiti pearl

Frets are Dunlop 6100 and it will feature an original Floyd Rose tremolo and a hot pickup

Note the all access heel we have given these two guitars to allow easier access to the top frets

This one needs no real introduction - does it?
